CNN:

[dangerousmeta!] I hear the heat’s simply unbearable in L.A. [joke will probably be beaten to death, but at least I got in early].
Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.
[Koranteng's Toli] Strange Bedfellows And The Journalistic Impulse: If you shared my symptoms, you would have been sure to notice the 30 seconds of video footage of Eritrean soldiers amongst the cache of videos and cds found in Afghan safehouses, as opposed to the clip from the "exclusive video" that CNN keeps repeating, whenever ratings flag, of Bin Laden's coming-out press conference in 1998. I frankly experienced whiplash when I saw those fleeting glimpses of Eritrean mujahadeen. And no one has commented on it so far as I can tell, not even Peter Bergen who's about as well informed as anyone on these matters.
[Den of the Crazytigerrabbitman] Tryptophan the Light Fantastique!: What a way to spend three perfectly good days off passing farts and repeatedly working my overused bowels like the bellows at a blacksmith shop: watching CNN! To listen to Anderson Cooper is like having front row tickets to global Armageddon. In the spirit of Thanksgiving I was trying to stay positive and gracious; but what Im really secretly thankful about this year is a bit more selfish. I am in fact most thankful that I am on my couch, safe in my little apartment, and not out among the other zombies running amok in the streets.
[Wrt-brooke.syr.edu] Collin vs. Blog: The only thing I wanted to hear from Coral Gables: It was almost unbearable to watch the "expert commentators" weasel out of making any sort of claims about the debate, choosing instead to "wait until we've had a chance to see how it was received." In other words, here were CNN commentators basically admitting that they had to wait and see what everyone else thought before they'd be willing to admit to thinking themselves. Shameful.
[Newsdissector.org] News Dissector Blog » 2003 » January » 14: "In a recent CNBC documentary on AOL Time Warner, Levin said he was trying get the poetry' back in his life. Unlike his merger partner, AOL's Steve Case, who cashed in some $160 million in stock after the deal, Levin never willingly sold any shares. Because of debts that reportedly reach around $20 million, lenders have lately forced him to sell some of his many real-estate holdings. He has put up for sale his triplex apartment on the Upper East Side for more than $7 million, and a luxury condominium in Santa Fe, N.M., for $3.2 million.
[Newsdissector.org] News Dissector Blog » 2003 » September » 05: And I can't tell you how reassuring it was to hear Steve Tyler on CNN this morning after Aerosmith and others played on the Mall to celebrate the coming again of the NFL season and salute our boys in yet another fusion of pig skin and patriotism and all that. Knowing who he was dealing with, Tyler told CNN he was a devoted viewer. He loves CNN. (Better CNN than some of the "stuff" he's loved over the years.) And Guess what?
[Newsdissector.org] News Dissector Blog » BBC Chief Blasts Us War Coverage: PR Spin reports: "The media watchdog FAIR/Extra! has studied the guest list of CNN's Reliable Sources to see how many critical voices were heard on the program that claims to "turn a critical lens on the media." Covering one year of weekly programs, the FAIR study found that Reliable Sources strongly favored mainstream media insiders and right-leaning pundits. In addition, female critics were significantly underrepresented, and ethnic minority voices were almost non-existent."
[Bloghassan.blogspot.com] Blog Hassan: And when you wake up in the morning the apartment is fine. Its only at that time of 10:30 in the morning when youre sitting at your computer trying to do the impossible by making money writing fiction, when the last of the buildings residents have left for their jobs and the air isnt being stirred by the security door being opened and closed, that something happens and your apartment becomes unbearable for the next four or five hours, give or take.)
