Maximize Me?

[Archived in Entry]

[lazyi.net // Ryan Prins Blog] Something was unsettling about it. But, when I got my PowerBook over a year ago that was all thrown out the window since maximize is a concept that OS X doesn’t know. So, I got used to it on my Mac and just accepted it. But, just now, I caught myself maximizing all of my windows on my work PC because it was driving me crazy, but if I was on my Mac having not all the windws covering up the screen real estate would be just fine.

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[The Irishman Speaks and All Shall Listen] The "I'm sorry I haven't posted in forever" post...: However, I'm hoping to turn over a new leaf, so who knows. The new number to all that care is 403 - 921- 0474. I really don't care posting it online because I'm fairly certain the only people reading this is the only people that would care. And moreover, as ryan can attest, I rarely answer my phone on demand, so I don't care if wacko arab terrorists try to spam my phone as they have attempted to do to tay.

http://www.ceprix.net [CeprixConception] Optimized Builds of Camino Icons: After a week or so, we finally see the final optimized build icons, and they look pretty impressive to me. Since I own an iBook G3, I’m using the G3-optimized build of Camino with this new green app icon, and this build is more responsive and renders faster than Safari or Firefox. If you’re a Mac user, you definitely have to give a try on the optimized builds of Camino and the new app icons. Some people just don’t get it saying Firefox is the best on the all platforms, but on the Mac, Camino is way too better than Firefox for many reasons, which I can’t list all.

[Samoht.com] samoht.com weblog : /Computing/: Its assignment to web serving duties will mark the end of my Sun Ultra 1 200e box's reign as web server, something it's done well for number of years now. The Sun box is actually still running fine (as a matter of fact it's been up for 133 consecutive days now), but it's running low on disk space and I'm losing interest in Solaris administration. In addition, the Mac has many more peripheral options (such as the ability to take a wireless card and firewire drives) and a better overall upgrade path should I choose to make upgrades (probably not). It is smaller, more elegant, and has no fan to make noise, so that's great, too.

Weblogs.java.net[Weblogs.java.net] Bill Day's Blog: July 2003 Archive: Apple should support J2ME development as well as it supports J2SE and Tomcat. It should enable all of us Mac OS X fans to build first class apps for the hundreds of millions of Java devices available now and in the near future. It could port and support the WTK on Mac OS X (a relatively straightforward option, and one I'd be glad to help sort out if Apple is interested), or it could one up the current WTK support for Linux, Solaris, and Win32 with some new tool making J2ME development even more productive on Macs. Either way, Apple, I'll buy the next PowerBook off your manufacturing line...and I'll recommend PowerBooks as the J2ME development laptop of choice to anyone and everyone that will listen.
