Why Apples are still a good buy

[Archived in Apple, Entry]

[Spontaneous Monotony] If you read BBCi, you’re probably thinking that the current generation of Apple computers are worseless now that the PowerPC processor is being...

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[Paidcontent.org] Apple Archives: PaidContent.org:  How Apple Will Change Everything About Podcasting: That's the title of a series of posts being churned out by Rex Hammock as he applies his varied experience in magazine publishing, blogging and business to the nascent world of podcasting. I have a sort of visceral response to the notion that it takes a major company to legitimize new ideas and trends -- Apple and podcasting, Yahoo and RSS, Google and blogging -- but Hammock does a good job of showing why this particular move carries a lot of potential power. (Or, as he calls it, "mass mojo dust.") He also adds a tremendous amount to the discussion about podcasting's commercial potential. Some quick hits in extended comments but find the time to read it yourself; segments 4 and five are due in the next couple of days.

[Feedvalidator.org] Feed Validator Results: http://www.karan.org/blog/xmlsrv/atom.php? ...: ... on IRC and here in person - on a PowerPC/32 bit ... we need are people with IBM RS6000's and Apple Mac G3's ... a href='http://www.bbc.co.uk/'>the BBCi</a>. RealVideo ...

[Karan.org] Karanbir Singh - Thinkability - January 2005: If you want to help, you can find me on #centos-ppc on irc.freenode.net - thats the best place to get in touch. Alternatively, you can IM me on 2522219 or email me at kbsingh+c4ppc@gmail.com

[Galileolibrary.com] Mike Presky's Weblog : Category Computing and the web: Though no one should be writing Classic applications anymore, developers can choose among Carbon, Cocoa, Java, and Unix. Plus, the new AppleScript Studio lets developers write true Cocoa applications in AppleScript. Third parties bolster this story as well, with products such as Runtime Revolution, the Java-focused Tekadence Magik, and the well-known REALbasic. (REAL Software recently announced their next version will run on Windows as well as the Mac, which should increase the number of applications developed using REALbasic, and which in turn could increase the number of Windows applications made available for the Mac.) The two flies in the ointment are that Apple still thinks HyperCard smells funny, and the company seems to have developed an odd aversion for AppleScript, with AppleScript support in too few of Apple's own applications."

[Galileolibrary.com] Mike Presky's Weblog : Weekly Archive : October 13, 2002 - October ...: Computer sales are not just going to come back: it will require confronting the serious problems facing the industry, most especially Microsoft's and Apple's monopolies. These are very definitely making it impossible for new technology to develop. I, for instance, would be developing an absolutely killer ebook program for Windows, except that Microsoft's giving theirs away for free.
